About the Punter

The Paper Punter is a public record of imaginary bets, kept with a seriousness the results rarely deserve.

It started in 2026 with a simple idea: follow a system properly, write everything down, and never risk a penny finding out how it goes.

There are three accounts:

• Racing: selections made before the off, settled at an imaginary £1 level stake.
• Fantasy football: one team, picked weekly, scored honestly.
• Paper portfolio: a handful of imaginary shares, valued at each day's close.

The Punter does not give tips. The Punter is not an expert. The Punter is, if the figures are anything to go by, the opposite of an expert.

What the Punter does offer is an honest ledger. Winners are recorded. Losers are recorded more often. Nothing is quietly deleted.

No real money is ever used. This is not betting advice, financial advice or advice of any kind.
